AVENGER'S ASSEMBLE!

I've seen Marvel's Avengers twice already. Joss Whedon has certainly written his love letter to the fans and we are thankful for it. Here's a little doodle (on a production report at work, hence the errant text) inspired by the film. I wish I had a better recollection of their costumes, but you get the idea. Excelsior!!

SWEET!

Hey all, my most recent DC Super-Pets story features the Dynamic Duo, Robin Robin and Ace, as they take on Crackers and Giggles, the Joker's hyenas. Illustrated by the amazing Art Baltazar, the loveliest man you'll ever meet. You can buy the book here: http://www.amazon.com/Candy-Store-Caper-Dc-Super-Pets/dp/1404872140/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1331209500&sr=8-1

To celebrate our collaboration, Art was kind enough to draw me my very own sketch of Ace and Robin Robin at last year's New York Comic Con.

You can check out Art's art here: http://www.artbaltazar.com/ and more friendly fun from our publishers at Capstone Kids: http://www.capstonekids.com/

By the Power of Grayskull!....

I recently learned of the passing of Luis Eduardo Barreto, one of my favorite childhood illustrators. His work on He-Man and the Masters of the Universe was paralleled by none. This is my tribute to him. See his work below:

Then I just kept doodling, and doodling.

Hey, lil fellas! These Mini-Masters are a kindler, gentler version of Eternia. Enjoy!

Triton vs Hercules

I drew this after being inspired by a piece at the Acropolis Museum. Part of the Parthenon's frieze depicted the demigod grappling with the Son of Poseidon. Looking at it again after a few months I realized that this image has been buried in my subconscious for 20 years.

In 1991, I got my hands on my first ever Aquaman comic book. Issue #4, with cover art by the VERY talented Kevin Maguire. I remember staring at it for hours. Now, two decades later, it resurfaced. See for yourselves:

Off to Neverland!

Last night Nicoletta and I saw 'Peter Pan' the musical at the Madison Square Garden Theater. Man, I forgot how much fun it is to be a kid for a little while, and how much I love the world of Peter Pan. Pirates, Indians, aerial sword-fights, and mermaids. That's all anyone needs this holiday season, really.

Aw, Yeah!!

Here are some doodles inspired by my recent meeting with Art Baltazar, illustrator of the Tiny Titans. We got Robin, Starfire, Kid Flash, Speedy and Cyborg. If you haven't checked out any of their books, do so now!

King of the Jungle

Disney's Tarzan is a pretty solid film and mainly overlooked because it has no princesses in it. The animation is so fluid and I enjoy the soundtrack, but I can live without the talking animals.

Kong: The 8th Wonder of the World!

This is pretty much what the last two weeks at work have been like.

Wowza!

Thanks to Halloween, I've been inspired by some sexy ladies. Here are Wonder Woman (by way of Jessica Rabbit) and Elvira, Mistress of the Dark. Enjoy!

Greek Independence Day!

March 25th commemorates the day Greece liberated herself from the clutches of Turkey's 400 years of slavery and oppression in 1821. Now if we could only do something about our current financial crisis...

My Little Spartan

When outside forces threaten the glitter and pizazz of Ponyville, one stands his ground and prepares for glory!

So close...

This little fella was inspired by a t-shirt some guy was wearing on the subway. Now I can post it since it's Friday the 12th. Breaks the heart doesn't it?

I recently finished the Rocketeer: The Complete Collection by Dave Stevens and have been watching the movie non-stop. Damn, they're good!

Man-Eater

I saw Jennifer's Body for the first time today. It was a bit uneven, but enjoyable. Megan Fox can have me for lunch any day. Yum!

Purple Zane

It's good to see Billy Zane (a fellow Greek) back on TV in his series 'The Deep End'. And while the Phantom movie from '96 isn't the greatest super-hero adaptation, I like the look and feel of it.
